Amravati recorded Maharashtra's highest maximum temperature at 39 degrees Celsius on Wednesday, making it the hottest place in the state, according to the India Meteorological Department's latest Maharashtra weather update. The temperature was 6.4 degrees Celsius above normal for the city.
Yavatmal recorded the second-highest maximum temperature at 38.2 degrees Celsius, followed by Akola at 37.9 degrees Celsius. Jalgaon and Solapur recorded 37.6 degrees Celsius each, while Wardha touched 37.6 degrees Celsius and Chandrapur recorded 37.2 degrees Celsius.
Several parts of Vidarbha also experienced hot conditions. Buldhana recorded 36.5 degrees Celsius, while Nagpur recorded 36.4 degrees Celsius. Washim and Bramhapuri recorded 36 degrees Celsius and 35.6 degrees Celsius, respectively, while Gondia recorded 34 degrees Celsius.
Mumbai recorded a maximum temperature of 34 degrees Celsius, which was 2.1 degrees above normal. Santacruz recorded 35.4 degrees Celsius, while Dahanu touched 34.3 degrees Celsius. Ratnagiri recorded 37.5 degrees Celsius, with the temperature 6.7 degrees above normal.
The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 36 degrees Celsius and 22 degrees Celsius, respectively. No rainfall was recorded in Pune during the reporting period.
In Central Maharashtra, Ahilyanagar recorded 36.3 degrees Celsius, while Pune recorded 35.2 degrees Celsius, 3.9 degrees above normal.
Lohgaon recorded 35.8 degrees Celsius, while Nashik and Satara recorded 35.4 degrees Celsius and 35.7 degrees Celsius, respectively. Kolhapur recorded 33.6 degrees Celsius, while Mahabaleshwar recorded 27.9 degrees Celsius.
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar recorded a maximum temperature of 36.5 degrees Celsius, followed by Parbhani at 35.6 degrees Celsius and Dharashiv at 34.2 degrees Celsius.
The lowest minimum temperature in Maharashtra was recorded at 17.2 degrees Celsius in Jalgaon.
The withdrawal of the Southwest Monsoon continued this week, with the line of withdrawal extending through several parts of the country, including Supaul, Ranchi, Raipur, Brahmapuri, Parbhani, Baramati, and Harnai, as per IMD.
According to the weather forecasting agency, the Southwest Monsoon also remained weak over Konkan-Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, and the Gujarat region during the day.
