Large parts of Maharashtra continued to experience hot and dry conditions on Saturday, with temperatures remaining above normal in several regions, according to IMD forecast.
Moreover, humidity levels showed a noticeable decline through the day, falling from around 57 percent in the morning to nearly 36 percent by evening. This drop indicates increasingly dry atmospheric conditions, which are typical during this time of year. Rainfall activity has been negligible, with most observation centers reporting no precipitation.
Vidarbha continues to experience intense heat, with Chandrapur and Wardha recording the highest maximum temperature of 44.0 degrees Celsius.
Similarly, several locations in Marathwada and central Maharashtra have reported temperatures crossing the 40-degree mark, reinforcing the persistence of hot weather conditions. Temperatures across the state remain elevated, particularly in the interior regions.
Even during the night, temperatures have remained relatively high, with minimum values largely ranging between 22 degrees Celsius and 29 degrees Celsius.
Hill stations such as Mahabaleshwar offer some relief, recording the lowest minimum temperature at 17.4 degrees Celsius and maximum temperature at 30.2 degree Celsius in the whole of Maharashtra.
In contrast to the interior regions, coastal areas along the Konkan belt, including Mumbai, have experienced comparatively moderate temperatures.
The influence of the sea has helped keep daytime temperatures in the range of 33 to 36 degrees Celsius, while minimum temperatures have stayed between 26 and 28 degrees Celsius. Although humidity remains present, conditions are still more comfortable compared to the hotter inland areas.
Despite a strong seasonal rainfall surplus in some areas like Pune, recent rainfall activity has been absent across Maharashtra. Most weather stations have recorded zero rainfall in the past 24 hours.
Pune's seasonal rainfall stands significantly above normal levels, but the current dry spell indicates a pause in precipitation.
Mumbai and its surrounding suburbs are expected to experience partly cloudy skies during the morning hours, with gradual clearing as the day progresses.
The weather will remain warm, with temperatures likely to range between 27 degrees Celsius and 33 degrees Celsius. The combination of moderate humidity and warm temperatures may lead to slightly humid conditions, especially during the daytime.
Air quality in Mumbai has shown significant improvement, providing a welcome respite for residents. The Air Quality Index was recorded at 50, placing it firmly in the "good" category. Several parts of the city, including areas such as Byculla, Chembur and Worli, reported even lower AQI levels, indicating cleaner air.
Other locations, including Bandra-Kurla Complex, Borivali East, and Sion, fell within the "satisfactory" category. Overall, pollution levels across the city remain low, posing minimal health risks and benefiting sensitive individuals.
Maximum temperatures are expected to hover around 37 degrees Celsius, while minimum temperatures may settle near 22 degrees Celsius. These conditions indicate the continuation of warm and dry weather across the state.
