According to the IMD forecast, Mumbai is likely to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places over the next three days, with isolated areas expected to witness extremely heavy showers. FILE PIC
Monsoon conditions remained active across Maharashtra on Thursday, with several districts recording rainfall and cooler-than-normal temperatures. While the Western Ghats received the heaviest showers, moderate rainfall was recorded in parts of Konkan, central Maharashtra, and Vidarbha.
Among all the weather stations, Mahabaleshwar recorded the highest rainfall at 77 mm, making it the wettest place in the state.
Several other parts of Maharashtra recorded rainfall on Thursday, with Bramhapuri receiving 39 mm, followed by Ratnagiri , Dahanu , Santacruz, and Colaba at 16 mm.
Other places recorded comparatively lighter rainfall, including Kolhapur, Pune, Parbhani, and Nashik. Districts such as Jalgaon, Solapur, Beed, Akola, Amravati, Chandrapur, Wardha, and Yavatmal, recorded little or no rainfall.
Monsoon showers continued across the Konkan region, with Mumbai receiving 16 mm. Ratnagiri received 26 mm followed by Dahanu and Alibaug.
The rainfall kept daytime temperatures across the region below normal.
Rainfall in Vidarbha and Marathwada was uneven. Bramhapuri stood out with 39 mm of rain, while Gondia recorded 14 mm and Washim received 6 mm. Many other districts including the ones in Marathwada witnessed only light rainfall or remained dry.
Cloud cover and rainfall kept temperatures below seasonal averages in most parts of Maharashtra.
Jalgaon recorded the state's highest maximum temperature at 33.1 degree Celsius, closely followed by Wardha (33 degree Celsius) and Solapur (32.7 degree Celsius).
Meanwhile, Mahabaleshwar remained the coolest location, recording the state's lowest minimum temperature at 17 degree Celsius.
