West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's departure to New Delhi today got delayed by an hour after the Air India flight which was supposed to fly her to the national capital failed to arrive at the airport here by its scheduled time


Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's departure to New Delhi today got delayed by an hour after the Air India flight which was supposed to fly her to the national capital failed to arrive at the airport here by its scheduled time.

After the dreamliner flight did not arrive at the N S C B International airport by 4 PM, its scheduled time, the chief minister booked a ticket in a private airline to leave for Delhi where she is to attend a meeting on Federalism, sources said.

The Dreamliner aircraft, which was supposed to take off from here at 5 PM, however arrived here at 6 PM and left one hour later, the sources said.

An Air India spokesman said the Dreamliner flight had developed a snag in New Delhi and it needed time to fix it up.
