A massive fire broke out at four shops in Washim district early Sunday morning, an official said.
According to IANS, soon after the incident, the fire department stated that firefighters were immediately dispatched to the location and were present on the spot to douse the flames. Furthermore, the official said that fire tenders are on the spot and efforts are ongoing to control the fire.
The cause of the fire has not yet been ascertained, while further details about the incident are awaited.
In a separate incident on July 20, a fire broke out in the Walhekarwadi area of Pimpri-Chinchwad on Monday morning after two electric two-wheelers caught flames while being charged at Dagdoba Chowk.
As per ANI, the blaze spread to a nearby two-story residential building, leaving one person injured.
According to fire officials, the incident took place when the electric two-wheelers parked for charging caught fire. The flames engulfed the two e-bikes and later spread to the adjacent residential building, as per ANI.
Speaking to the media, firefighter Shahaji Kopnkar said the fire control room received a call at 7:18 AM about a fire in a flat in the Walhekarwadi area. A fire team was immediately dispatched to the spot, as per ANI.
Ten residents were safely evacuated after a minor fire broke out in the basement of a residential building in Thane city on Saturday morning, officials said.
No injuries were reported in the incident, which occurred at Gautam House, a two-story building located near the Naupada Police Station.
According to Yasin Tadvi, chief of the Regional Disaster Management Cell (RDMC) of the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC), the fire department received a call about the blaze at around 8.10 am.
"A call reporting a minor fire in rubber mats kept in the building's basement was received at around 8:10 am," Tadvi said.
Emergency response teams, including personnel from the fire brigade, RDMC, Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) and Mahanagar Gas Limited, rushed to the spot.
