While the maximum temperature on Tuesday and Wednesday remained at 33.6 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature lingered around 14.2 degrees Celsius.

"We are expecting a fall by at least three to four degrees in the next 24 hours due to the northerly winds' interference. The weather might return to normal in the next three days," said Sunita Devi, director (weather central), IMD.

As per IMD data, the day temperatures have gone up by more than six degrees Celsius in the last six days, and by coming week, temperatures are expected to rise further.

"The day temperatures have been shooting up above normal in most parts of the state, including Vidarbha, Amravati, Akola and Chandrapur. On Sunday, maximum temperature recorded was 36 degrees," said Devi.
