Opposition stalls Rajya Sabha, demands Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation over NEET row

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge led a united Opposition protest in the Rajya Sabha demanding Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan`s resignation over the alleged NEET-UG irregularities. While the Opposition insisted no House business would proceed until he stepped down, the Centre said it was ready to discuss the issue in Parliament

Congress President and Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge spearheaded a fierce protest demanding the immediate resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

Leading a united Opposition front, Kharge asserted that "no debate or discussion on the floor of the House would be permitted until the Pradhan steps down".

Responding to the Opposition's charge, Leader of the House and Union Minister JP Nadda stated that the government is not shying away from a discussion.

He emphasised that the Centre is prepared to address all concerns raised by the members regarding the NEET-UG irregularities.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju also said that the government is ready to discuss all issues, including the NEET paper leak and all matters related to it.
