The mystic mosques, paranthewallahs, havelis, hand-carts and masakalis of Old Delhi have sent many a shutter

Yeh delhi hai mere yaar: Dilli 6 workshop instructor Nagender Chikkara's lens spans Old Delhi from atop the Jama Masjid

aflutter, B-Town ones being the latest. Now's your chance to move over shaadi shopping and biryani hopping at erstwhile Shahjahanabad, and make journeys more meaningful. Dust that camera and head to Dilli 6, a workshop that's all set to explore some of the best kept secrets of Kinari Bazaar, Dariba Kalan, Khari Baoli and corners you may've never heard of.u00a0u00a0u00a0

Street treat: The click-a-thon will focus on four facets that define the essence of the townshipu2026 history, culture, food and fashion, through on-site and off-site sessions. The shot guns who will pilot the affair are international travel photogs Nagender Chikkara, Bikash Das and William Chang. Their preparations are on full throttle. "Just yesterday, we discovered a quaint dry fruit market by the bridge; mithai pull ke paas. I've shortlisted it," Nagender tells us. Other venues are marked out on a route map which will be handed over to each member of the flash frat.

Click clubbers' eligibility: You must own an SLR and tripod to be part of the deal. "And, I'm not going to teach you how to handle the machine, so your basics should be in place," chief Nagender makes clear. Don't be discouraged; the dangling carrots look big enough. The works will be put up on a large-scale show, and the best will be rewarded by the organising gallery, The Fuschia Tree. The top print will be printed on archival quality canvas to immortalise it forever (aww).
Also, constructive feedback will be provided to improve skill, and inputs on lighting, angles, focus and other elements will follow. If you think you've mastered the art and are fit to front the rest of the gang, you're most welcome to. Worth the sweat, we think. Just in case you can't get enough, wait up for the rest of this series that'd track different parts of the city, starting next month. It's not just Ghalib who'd be pleased!
