Political activity in Patna has intensified after posters appeared in the city demanding that Chirag Paswan be made the next Chief Minister of Bihar.

The development comes amid speculation that current Chief Minister Nitish Kumar may move to the Rajya Sabha.

The posters were reportedly put up by Imam Ghazali, district president of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas).

They feature Chirag Paswan wearing a crown and include slogans urging people to support him as the next leader of the state. The messages claim that Bihar's "golden age" will arrive if Paswan is given the leadership and also state that the National Democratic Alliance would form the government with him as Chief Minister, reported the IANS.

This is not the first time that supporters have demanded that Chirag Paswan lead the state.

Earlier, Arun Bharti, Member of Parliament from Jamui and Paswan's brother-in-law, had also expressed his wish to see him as Chief Minister. However, he said that the final decision on the chief ministerial candidate would be taken by the NDA leadership.

Paswan's mother, Rajkumari Devi, has also publicly supported the idea, stating that her son would perform better as Chief Minister than Nitish Kumar.

More names emerge in Bihar leadership debate

The debate over Bihar's next Chief Minister has intensified after Nitish Kumar's nomination to the Rajya Sabha sparked discussions about possible successors.

Adding to the political developments, Nishant Kumar, the son of Nitish Kumar, recently joined the Janata Dal (United). Following his entry into politics, some party workers have also suggested his name for the Chief Minister's post, according to the IANS.

There is also speculation in political circles that a woman leader could be considered for the top position.

With Chirag Paswan's name now being widely discussed, the political contest over Bihar's future leadership appears to be gaining momentum.

Nitish Kumar's son Nishant joins JD(U)

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's son Nishant Kumar joined the JD(U) on Sunday and said he would work to strengthen the party's organisation.

Nishant, an engineering graduate who is in his 40s, was inducted into the party at its headquarters here in the presence of top leaders, including Union minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh ‘Lalan' and JD(U)'s national working president Sanjay Jha, the PTI reported.

After joining the party, Nishant said, "My father decided to go to the Rajya Sabha. It was his personal decision. We all respect it. We will keep working under his guidance. I will work to strengthen the party."
