The development came as a surprise to many as NCP workers had created a ruckus in Ralegansiddhi following Hazare's "Just one slap?" comment when party chief Sharad Pawar was hit by a youth in Delhi a month ago. Mapari said, "I am contesting the election and Anna is not objecting to the idea."u00a0
Mapari also said that Hazare had made it very clear that he had no issues withu00a0any political party and readily gave him permission to contest the poll.
