Lucknow: A school teacher was beaten to death by family members of a young woman with whom he eloped, police said on Wednesday.
The incident occurred in Malihabad, about 25 km from Lucknow, late on Tuesday.
Raj Kumar, 32, the teacher, used to live with his parents in Gadaho village. He became friendly with the young woman, in her 20s, and eloped with her on Monday.
Police officer Javed Khan told IANS that a case of murder had been registered against the woman's father, Raja Ram, and her two brothers, Anil and Munish. Police have launched a search for the three.
