Top cops won't be transferred until Dabholkar case is solved?

The deputy chief minister's remarks at a function yesterday indicated that top-level police officers, who have completed their 3-year tenure and due for a transfer, will have to wait till the time Dabholkar murder case is cracked.


Deputy Chief Ministeru00a0Ajit Pawar who was in the city to launch a portal on wrestling and to inaugurate the office of Pune Zilla Kustigeer Sangh in Udaybagh, said that investigations in Dr Narendra Dabholkar's murder case were ongoing and there would be no significant output if police officers who were investigating the case are transferred.u00a0

"When the right time would come, we would take a decision on reshuffling the police officers in the city," said Pawar. u00a0He also added that a meeting is being scheduled between him, Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan and Home Minister RR Patil to discuss the status of the investigations. u00a0The deputy CM's remarks pacified the speculations that key officers would be transferred for failing to crack the murder case.u00a0

After being targeted by the mediapersons that the ministers in the state government themselves believed in superstition, Pawar said that if he or CM Chavan would have believed in superstition then they would have been seen wearing gems or rings and would have worn a sacred thread on their wrists. "Both of us do not follow any such things is enough to say that we don't believe in superstition," said Pawar. u00a0
