Kumar's last rites were performed in Jamtara district in Jharkhand.
Yesterday, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti led civil administration, police and paramilitary officials in paying tributes to CRPF commanding officer Pramod Kumar who laid down his life during an encounter with militants.
Mehbooba laid a wreath on the coffin of Kumar who died of injuries sustained during a militant attack in Nowhatta area of the city this morning. Nine other security personnel were injured in the gun battle which ended with the killing of two militants.
Chief Secretary B R Sharma, DGP K Rajendra Kumar, ADG CRPF Sadanand Shrivastave and other senior officers from state police, CRPF and BSF paid homage to the slain officer.
