The Western Railway (WR) has achieved a new milestone by recording its highest-ever single-day earnings from ticket checking, collecting Rs 1.39 crore on October 18. A total of 17,383 cases of ticketless travel was reported by the WR on the day.

According to a statement issued by WR, this performance surpasses the previous best of Rs 1.28 crore recorded on November 10, 2023.

The feat marks a significant improvement in revenue collection and reflects the intensified efforts of the railway's ticket-checking teams.

Despite a large number of ticket checking staff being deployed for crowd management duties, especially in view of the Diwali festive season, WR managed to achieve this record-breaking revenue.

The initiative is part of ongoing efforts to enhance operational efficiency and improve passenger discipline across the network.
