Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday evening met the people who were injured in a blast at the Red Fort metro station in Delhi, at Lok Nayak Hospital and later reached the blast site
At around 7 pm on Monday, a blast occurred in a Hyundai i20 car at the Subhash Marg traffic signal near the Red Fort in Delhi, Amit Shah said
The blast injured some pedestrians and damaged some vehicles
Within 10 minutes of receiving the information of the blast, teams from the Delhi Crime Branch and Delhi Special Branch arrived at the spot, Amit Shah said
The blast, which ripped through a car at a traffic signal outside Gate No. 1 of Lal Qila Metro Station, sent shockwaves through the bustling Old Delhi neighbourhood, igniting multiple vehicles and shattering nearby windows
In his post, PM Modi wrote, "Condolences to those who have lost their loved ones in the blast in Delhi earlier this evening. May the injured recover at the earliest. Those affected are being assisted by authorities. Reviewed the situation with Home Minister Amit Shah Ji and other officials"
