CM Siddaramaiah announced while speaking at the first 'Quantum India Bengaluru' summit. The event was organised by the Karnataka Science and Technology Promotion Society (KSTePS) and the Department of Science & Technology, in partnership with the IISc Quantum Technology Initiative (IQTI)
Karnataka's Chief Minister proudly announced the state's "Quantum Vision 2035," coinciding with the world celebrating 2025 as the International Year of Quantum. He stated that by 2035, the goal is to create 10,000 high-skilled jobs and establish Karnataka as the "Quantum Capital of Asia"
According to the Chief Minister, the Karnataka Quantum Mission (KQM) will focus on advancing research and development, skills training, infrastructure, and supporting startups
To achieve this, a dedicated Quantum Technology Task Force will be established to guide policy, and new quantum parks, manufacturing zones, and a "Q-City" will be created to encourage innovation
The Chief Minister also stated that Karnataka's integrated quantum hub, the "Q-City," is intended to position India as a global leader in quantum technology, much like Bengaluru did for the IT industry
