Udhayanidhi Stalin is seeking re-election for a second term from Chennai’s Chepauk-Thiruvallikeni Assembly constituency
The Chepauk–Thiruvallikeni constituency holds strong political significance for the DMK, as it was previously represented by former Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, who won from the seat in three consecutive elections in 1996, 2001 and 2006
Ahead of Udhayanidhi’s victory in 2021, the constituency was represented by DMK leader J Anbalagan, who won in 2011 and 2016
Meanwhile, Clad in a black shirt to convey the party's opposition to the delimitation exercise, DMK youth wing secretary on Thursday also campaigned for the party candidate in Tamil Nadu's Madurai
