In a rare summer sighting, flamingos arrived at Nandur Madhmeshwar Bird Sanctuary in Nashik

Arrival of Flamingos surprised birdwatchers. Officials called it a rare opportunity and credited excellent habitat management for attracting the birds despite the April heat

The migratory flamingos, locally known as Rohit, were spotted descending on the sanctuary on April 28, creating a striking visual across the water body at the confluence of the Godavari and Kadwa rivers

Calling it a visual treat, Range Forest Officer Hiralal Chaudhari said, “Watching these flamingos through the morning mist or during sunset is a refreshing experience. Nature lovers should not miss this spectacle"

With their long necks, pale pink plumage and black-tipped wings mirrored in the blue waters, the birds transformed the reservoir into a picture-perfect landscape, drawing the attention of birdwatchers and photographers

The arrival of flamingos has once again highlighted Nandur Madhmeshwar’s importance as a crucial wetland habitat for migratory birds in Maharashtra
