Opposition parties in Parliament on Wednesday criticised the Central government over the renaming of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), saying that the move reflects the BJP and RSS's ideological opposition to Mahatma Gandhi

The Congress MPs also vowed to "expose the vendetta politics" against its leadership, asserting that its cadre is agitated over the National Herald case probe. They warned the government that they will show their strength against this "misuse of agencies" by the Centre to target Opposition leaders
Furthermore, RJD MP Manoj Jha on Wednesday criticised the Centre over the decision to change the name of the MGNREGA scheme, saying that merely having "Ram" in someone's name doesn't give them a license to anything
