Local train services were affected in Mumbai today after a fire broke out at midnight at the Kurla and Vidyavihar signalling cabins. The fire was brought under control by the fire brigade soon; however, some of the signalling equipment was damaged. As a precautionary measure, train services on all the lines at Kurla and Vidyavihar were stopped for three hours. Due to the damage to the equipment, trains had to be piloted manually this morning at three to four signals between Kurla and Vidyavihar. This has caused a 45-minute delay in the services.
