West Bengal politics has erupted into fresh controversy after Kalyan Banerjee was injured during chaotic scenes in Hooghly’s Chanditala. The incident comes barely a day after Abhishek Banerjee was allegedly assaulted in Sonarpur, pushing Bengal’s political temperature even higher. During his visit to Chanditala, Kalyan was met with black flags, loud “chor chor” slogans and intense crowd unrest before visuals captured an object appearing to strike him from behind.
