Police lines have been flooded with calls after the city police, two days ago, released a sketch of one of the four suspected Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists out to create mayhem in the city during Christmas and New Year's celebrations. They have led the police into a tizzy, without any positive leads.

"Our telephones have not stopped ringing. But nothing has yielded any result so far," said a senior police official.

The sketch was released based on 'specific information' received by the police. They also appealed to the citizens to be alert and pass on any information.

According to the police, the four suspected terrorists Abdul Kareem Moosa, Noor Abu Ilahi, Walid Jinnah and Mahfooz Alam areu00a0 alleged LeT members.

Senior police officials said that they are 'foreigners', possibly from Pakistan and Bangladesh and have infiltrated into the country from the Bangladeshi border.

The police said on Thursday that four suspected LeT operatives had sneaked into the city recently to carry out 'violent attacks' during the New Year Season.

Sources said the tip-off was received after an Additional Director General of Police of Assam Khagen Sharma, known to have sources in Bangladesh, sent a written report to multi-agency centre (MAC) of the Intelligence Bureau about a possible LeT strike in Mumbai.
