Maharashtra Governor K Shankaranarayanan skipped the inaugural function of Mumbai Emergency Management Exercise (MEMx) organised by the United Nations Disaster Management Team at University of Mumbai campus in Kalina on Saturday, citing ill health. The 78-year-old has been advised rest by the Raj Bhavan doctors.
According to a Raj Bhavan spokeperson, "He had a hectic travel schedule in the last week that included two visits to Nagpur during the winter session.
He arrived in Mumbai on Saturday morning, and since he has a travel plan for Pune on Sunday, he preferred to skip this event."
"The governor was only exhausted, otherwise his health parameters are very good," the spokesperson said.
The governor has commitments packed into Sunday and Monday too.
