Kingston police arrested a man after he allegedly told kids Santa isn't real


The unidentified 24-year-old man was allegedly drunk when he crashed the annual Kingston Santa Claus parade last Saturdayu00a0and shouted, "Santa isn't real" to shocked children, the Toronto Star reported.

Kingston police arrested the man, who gelled his hair to look like a set of devil horns protruding from his head, around 6 p.m.,u00a0Const. Steve Koopman said.


"It was pretty despicable that someone, during this time of the year, would tell kids Santa isn't real - which of course we wouldu00a0argue," the Koopman said.

The man spent Saturday night in a cell while he sobered up. He was granted bail in the court the next morning on the conditionu00a0that he would abstain from alcohol, Koopman said.

The man is charged with causing a disturbance by being drunk and breach of probation.
