Chinese automaker XPeng has launched dedicated manufacturing of its IRON humanoid robot in Guangzhou, marking a shift from prototype development to commercial-scale production.

Utilizing its automotive expertise, AI, and advanced automation, XPeng demonstrated the system when an IRON robot autonomously walked off the assembly line upon completion.

This move accelerates the global race to commercialise general-purpose humanoids, contrasting with delays faced by Tesla.
