President Volodymyr Zelenskiy stated Ukraine received no advance warning before Russia launched a major overnight air assault, firing 16 ballistic missiles and over 200 drones nationwide.

The widespread strikes targeted regions from Kharkiv to Volyn, damaging over 10 energy facilities and cutting power to more than 500,000 households. The attacks also caused three confirmed fatalities - one in Kyiv and two in Kryvyi Rih.

Air Force spokesman Yurii Ihnat noted that while Ukraine received no initial warning for the first ballistic missile, information was provided ahead of a second attack. Throughout the nearly five-year war, Kyiv has relied heavily on US intelligence for launch detections.

Zelenskiy's public criticism highlights rising friction with the Trump administration over US military support and sanctions policy, warning that blocked air-defence missile deliveries and delayed Russian sanctions reflect a "denial of reality" by Western allies.
