A Saudi prince who spent two decades in a coma following a devastating car crash in London has passed away, according to his father.
Prince Al Waleed bin Khaled bin Talal Al Saud, the eldest son of Prince Khaled bin Talal Al Saud, died at age 36. Known as the âSleeping Prince', he had remained unconscious for over twenty years after a catastrophic accident at 15, whilst studying as a military cadet in London.
The prince sustained serious brain trauma and internal haemorrhaging in the collision, and despite emergency medical intervention, never fully regained consciousness. He received treatment at King Abdulaziz Medical City, where he remained on life support until his death.
