Sravan Kumar, the 25-year old student, whose comatose pictures had sent shock waves across the Indian diaspora, will be moved to a rehabilitation centre tomorrow to help him recuperate from the brutal attack.

Kumar, the first victim of a series of alleged racist attacks Down Under in the last one month, whose case caught media attention, will move to the rehab after doctors said he was clinically stable.

"The crime compensation court has agreed to pay out rehabilitation compensation to him,"u00a0said a source close to Kumaru00a0adding, he is likely to shift to the rehab tomorrow morning.

Kumar, who survived the brutal attack last month after battling for life for several days, is now able to walk and respond.

Sravan's visiting uncle Srinivas Theerthala, who is currently his local guardian, had earlier said that Sravan's condition was stable but there was little chance of him recovering completely.

"Even though he has survived, the attack will leave Sravan slightly disabled on audio visual aspect," he said. Theerthala said doctors were now looking forward to move Sravan to a rehabilitation centre for further recovery.
