The Miyun Reservoir, situated in Beijing's northeastern suburbs, recorded its largest flood inflow on Sunday since its construction over 60 years ago, according to the Ministry of Water Resources
The ministry has called on local authorities to enhance monitoring and forecasting of rainfall and water levels, and to issue early warnings without delay
The ministry also urged authorities to take precautions against flooding in small- and medium-sized rivers and to relocate residents from high-risk areas in advance to protect lives and property, according to state-run Xinhua news agency
