A dramatic maritime operation unfolded in the Indian Ocean as US forces boarded the sanctioned supertanker MT Davina. According to US Indo-Pacific Command, the vessel was intercepted during a right-of-visit boarding operation. Reports indicate the tanker was carrying around 1.9 million barrels of Iranian crude oil loaded at Iran`s Kharg Island before departing in March. The vessel reportedly disappeared from public tracking systems for weeks before reappearing during the interdiction. Washington says the operation is part of a wider campaign to disrupt Iran-linked maritime networks and prevent sanctioned vessels from operating freely in international waters.
