Favourites to become next skipper...

Steven Gerrard

The long-time vice-captain could easily settle back into the role based on experience.

Frank Lampard

He has stepped in as captain before. With 90 caps, there's no question of his experience.

Scott Parker

He has emerged as one of the early favourites after his impressive form at Tottenham.

Wayne Rooney

He has experience of captaining Man United and is seen as a natural leader on the field.

Also being considered:
>> Gareth Barry >> Ashley Cole >> Jack Wilshere >> Joe Hart
