Sydney: Australian Test spinner Stephen O'Keefe has been fined under Cricket Australia's code of behaviour after he was involved in an incident at a Sydney hotel over the weekend, CA said yesterday.
O'Keefe, who returned early from Australia's tour of Sri Lanka with a hamstring injury, allegedly abused police, security staff and managers at The Steyne Hotel while intoxicated.
He accepted a fine of A$10,000 ($7,630). He was also told to undergo counselling. Police also issued O'Keefe with an infringement notice for offensive behaviour at the hotel, meaning he must pay a separate fine.
