After forging a commercial partnership with Australia and England in order to get a larger pie of the International Cricket Council revenue, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has now made a strategic tie-up with Cricket Australia (CA) and the England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) to conduct exchange programmes for coaches.

Under the programme, coaches from Australia and England will visit India to enhance their skills and vice-versa. "It is something similar to the umpire's exchange programme wherein foreign umpires officiate in our domestic matches. Now, we have tied up with the Australian and England boards for coaches programme," a top BCCI official told mid-day.

Meanwhile, the BCCI is also planning to set up a High Performance Academy in Bangalore which will be on the lines of Cricket Australia's Centre of Excellence (Brisbane).

"This academy is one of our top priorities, but we are waiting for the Supreme Court's verdict in the IPL-VI scandal. Our elections are held up because of that. Once we get clearance, we will immediately put the plan in place," said another official.

Rehab at Chennai only
It is learnt that the BCCI is may shift players' rehab programmes from Bangalore to Chennai. "Now, the National Cricket Academy (Bangalore) will solely focus on cricketing activities," said an official.
