BCCI to foot Rs 1-crore bill for four-month long probe

New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has to foot a bill of about Rs 1 crore to the Justice Mudgal Committee that submitted its findings to the Supreme Court on Monday.

While constituting the probe panel in October last year, the apex court had ordered the BCCI to pay the three-member committee a fee of Rs 1 lakh per working day. Besides, the BCCI was asked to bear all expenses relating to travel, boarding and lodging.

"There was lot of travel involved in this probe. We also met many people in many cities. Finalising the report was a very thorough process," L Nageshwara Rao, a member of the committee , told MiD DAY yesterday.

Senior advocate Nilay Dutta was the third member of the probe panel. Since October, the committee met 26 times across different cities.
