Sayed, known for his batting prowess, outfoxed the Kapol Vidyanidhi batsmen with his leg-spin to limit the Kandivli school to just 83 runs.
Earlier, St Anne's were bowled out for 179. After losing opener Hari Syngal for a duck, Sayed stabilised the innings with a crucial 85-run partnership for the third wicket with captain Dhruvik Solanki (31).
After the win, St Anne's coach Amit Sharma said that the team's survival wouldn't have been possible without Bollywood actor Aamir Khan's support. "We started participating in MSSA tournaments four years ago without any cricketing gear. The school doesn't have special funds for the team like others. It only pays our participation fees. As our team mainly comprises of kids from poor backgrounds, Aamir bears all the cost of the kits and fees for a ground to practise on. He also gives gifts to kids who perform well in a tournament," said Sharma.
"Last year, when I scored a century, Aamir sent me a cricket bat. That motivated me to perform better," Sayed said.u00a0
