Former Australia Prime Minister John Howard and his wife Janette, also a member of the Liberal Party, went unnoticed through hundred-odd people after stumps were drawn here yesterday.

Howard was just about to leave the premises of the Adelaide Oval when MiD DAY greeted him, "Did you enjoy the cricket today, sir?" He replied promptly: "I sure did. But, I am coming back tomorrow (today) to hopefully watch Sachin Tendulkar score his hundredth international hundred. It's also Australia Day and your (India's) Republic Day. Could there be a better stage to do it?"

Howard, felt Australia's crowd deserved more from the summer. "I was expecting one of the toughest contests in a long time. I thought we were going to see one of the best match-ups. But unfortunately for the public that has come in, it's just been one-way traffic."
