IND vs SA 2nd Test: Team India reach 90 runs at Tea on Day 5

On day 5 of the second Test match against South Africa, Team India has reached the score of 90 runs for the loss of five wickets in 47 overs.

The hosts still need 459 runs to win in 59 overs against the Proteas.

Sai Sudharsan and Ravindra Jadeja are unbeaten at the crease on the scores of 14 and 23 runs, respectively. Sudharsan has already faced 138 runs and smashed just one boundary, and Jadeja has faced 40 deliveries and registered a maximum.

Kuldeep Yadav departed after facing 38 balls, and his innings ended with a score of five runs, including a boundary. Stand-in skipper Rishabh Pant accumulated 13 runs off 16 balls, with the help of a boundary and a maximum.

Earlier, Team India's opening duo, Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul, departed early in the match. Jaiswal managed to score 13 runs in 20 balls, with the help of a boundary and a maximum. Rahul endured a poor outing as he scored just six runs in 29 balls.

So far in the match, South Africa's Simon Harmer has tasted success. Bowling 19 overs, he has claimed four wickets by conceding 23 runs. Pacer Marco Jansen has also picked up one wicket for 16 runs in 11 overs.

Wiaan Mulder, Keshav Maharaj, and Aiden Markram are yet to claim their first wicket. Mulder has bowled four overs and given away six runs, whereas Markram has conceded two runs in two overs. Maharaj leaked 31 runs in 11 overs by far.

Earlier, the visitors declared after scoring 260 runs for the loss of five wickets. Tristan Stubbs smashed 94 runs after facing 180 deliveries. His knock was laced with nine boundaries and a maximum. Tony de Zorzi missed his half-century by just one run. He played 68 balls and scored 49 runs with the help of four boundaries and a maximum.

India's star all-rounder Jadeja returned with the figures of four wickets for 62 runs in 28.3 overs in South Africa's second innings.

Currently, South Africa is leading the series by 1-0, and on the other hand, the hosts will aim to secure a draw in the Guwahati clash.
