The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the latest rankings for Men's T20I, and India remained at the number 1 spot after their World Cup win. England and Australia remained at number 2 and 3, respectively.

With 275 rating points, India leads the standings, after making history in March by being the first team to successfully defend the ICC Men's T20 World Cup championship and win the trophy for a record third time. Australia is third with 258 points, while England is in second place with 262.

Explaining the annual update, the ICC said matches played since May 2025 have been given full weightage, while fixtures from the preceding two years carry a 50 per cent value in the revised calculations.

The top seven teams have not changed. With 247 points, the men's national cricket team from New Zealand is still in fourth place, followed by the teams from South Africa (244), Pakistan (240), and the West Indies (233).

The men's national cricket team from Bangladesh moved up to eighth place with 225 points, while the men's national cricket team from Sri Lanka fell to ninth place with 221 after losing six rating points. With 220 points, the Afghanistan men's national cricket team completes the top 10.

World Cup stars USA and Italy gain places in the new rankings

The USA gained two spots after gaining six points, and see themselves rise to the 13th place, overtaking the Netherlands and Scotland, who are at 14th and 15th ranks respectively. Namibia remained at 16th place while Nepal (17th) and Oman (19th) jumped a spot each, overtaking the UAE (18th) and Canada (20th) respectively.

T20 World Cup debutants Italy gained 11 points and gained three spots from 26th to the 23rd rank. The European side managed to secure a brilliant win in their very first outing at the T20 World Cup, securing a 10-wicket win over Nepal.

The number of teams in the rankings is down from 102 to 98 as Fiji, Gambia, Greece and Israel didn't make the cut as they did not play the requisite eight T20Is in the past three years.
