Indian left-arm spinner Manav Suthar has signed a short-term deal with English county side Warwickshire for their upcoming two fixtures in the County Championship. Suthar played a starring role in his debut match as India defeated Afghanistan in the recent one-off Test match.

The club officially confirmed the signing of Suthar on Wednesday, stating that the young spinner will be eligible for selection in the next two rounds of the Rothesay County Championship. His stint includes the encounter against Yorkshire at Scarborough, scheduled from June 12 to 15, followed by a trip to Taunton to face Somerset the following week.

The 23-year-old all-rounder, known for his left-arm finger spin, recently earned his maiden international cap during India's one-off Test against Afghanistan in New Chandigarh, which ended on Monday. He enjoyed a dream debut on the big stage, ripping through the opposition to claim brilliant figures of six for 33 in the first innings alongside 1 for 29 in the second.

Before breaking into the senior national side, Suthar had already built an impressive domestic resume, picking up 129 wickets across 29 first-class appearances.

"We're delighted to welcome Manav to the Bears at a really exciting time for the team. We've played some good red-ball cricket already this season, and Manav will bring a new aspect to our bowling attack. It shows how highly he's rated in India after his selection to their Test team last week, so it's going to be great to have him around the group." Warwickshire Performance Director James Thomas said in a statement.

Suthar excited about playing in England

Suthar will be hoping to make an immediate impact, as Warwickshire look to maintain their title push in the County Championship.

The young Indian spinner is eager to hit the ground running as Warwickshire looks to keep up the pressure at the top of the multi-day tournament standings.

"I'm incredibly excited to be joining Warwickshire for the next two County Championship games. The team have started the season very well, so I'm hoping that I can play a part in helping them in their push for the title," he said.
