Sanju Samson
(Chennai Super Kings)
Innings: 9, Runs: 315, Highest: 115', Average: 45.00, Strike-rate: 167.55, 100: 2, 50: 0
Though Sanju Samson has not been consistent enough to deliver big scores in every game, his debut season with CSK has been memorable so far. He has emerged as a match-winner for his side on quite a few occasions. His two centuries - the only player to do so this season - 115 not out off 56 balls vs DC and 101 off 54 balls against Mumbai Indians, saw him single-handedly take CSK to victory.
KL Rahul (Delhi Capitals)
Innings: 9, Runs: 433, Highest: 152', Average: 54.12, Strike-rate: 185.83, 100: 1, 50: 3
Known for playing the anchor's role, KL Rahul has reinvented his T20 game at Delhi Capitals. He is currently striking at an IPL career-high rate of 185.84. His consistent performance - 433 runs averaging 54.13 in nine games - including three half-centuries and one century, have helped DC get off to a solid start. Rahul's unbeaten 152 off 67 balls against Punjab Kings - the highest T20 score by an Indian - makes him the standout performer of the ongoing edition.
Prabhsimran Singh
(Punjab Kings)
Innings: 8, Runs: 361, Highest: 80', Average: 51.57, Strike-rate: 174.39, 100: 0, 50: 4
Opener Prabhsimran Singh is one of the major reasons behind Punjab Kings's fearless approach in the Powerplay. The right-hander's consistency is evident from the fact that he has scored above 35 runs in six out of eight innings, becoming a nightmare for new-ball bowlers. His extraordinary knock of 76 off just 26 balls provided PBKS the much-needed confidence to chase the T20 record 265-run target against DC.
Ryan Rickelton
(Mumbai Indians)
Innings: 8, Runs: 380, Highest: 123', Average: 54.28, Strike-rate: 190.95, 100: 1, 50: 2
Ryan Rickelton has the standout performer for MI in an otherwise dull campaign for the team so far. The left-handed opener was given an opportunity ahead of veteran Quinton de Kock in the early matches and justified the faith by providing MI with explosive starts. The South African began the tournament with a solid 81 off 43, helping MI chase KKR's 220-4 with ease. His impressive 55-ball 123 not out against SRH made him MI's highest individual scorer ever.
Ishan Kishan
(Sunrisers Hyderabad)
Innings: 10, Runs: 354, Highest: 91, Average: 35.40, Strike-rate: 189.30, 100: 0, 50: 3
Playing in his 11th IPL season, Ishan Kishan, batting at No. 3, has unleashed his explosive self this year, in arguably his best IPL season. With his attacking display he has torn into the opposition bowlers. The southpaw's 91 off 44 balls and 74 off 31 balls saw him dismantle RR's bowling unit twice this season, leading to easy wins for SRH. Kishan's strike-rate of 189.30, the highest among regular wicketkeeper-batters this season, has made SRH the most feared batting unit in the tournament.
