New Zealand's Brendon McCullum said his team's morale is on an all-time high after denying India victory in the second of the three Tests here at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.
Having saved the Hyderabad Test with a blistering double ton, a delighted McCullum spoke exclusively to MiD DAY on his way from the dressing room to the team bus. "It is a wonderful feeling, not only did I get a double, but helped save the game. We fought back brilliantly. Our morale is really high," he said.
He was eventually dismissed for 225 as New Zealand declared at 448-8.
Meanwhile, he congratulated Kolkata Knight Riders teammate Chris Gayle for blasting 333 against Sri Lanka in the ongoing Galle Test: "We are both lucky to get these knocks. Sadly, I couldn't watch his innings, but will catch the highlights. He probably batted better than me, I had wished him for his tour," he signed off before boarding the bus.
