Medium-pacer Dharmesh Patel's (7-14 and 3-14) 10-wicket match haul helped Sunrise Sports Club beat Worli Cricket Club by virtue of a first-innings lead in a Division ‘G' game of the Dr HD Kanga Cricket League at Cross Maidan on Sunday.

Patel's fiery spell of 7.2-3-14-7 helped Sunrise SC bundled out Worli CC for just 17 in the first innings. Former Mumbai pacer Moondeep Mangela (3-3) also aptly supported Patel. Then, in reply to Sunrise's 101 all out, Worli CC posted 101-9 in the second essay of the drawn encounter with Patel taking 3-14 and left-arm spinner Ahmed Khan 2-30.

"At one stage, they [Worli CC] lost six wickets with just one run on the board and I picked four of those. Our aim was to just bowl at the stump as the conditions were in our favour," Patel told mid-day on Sunday.

Kandivli resident Patel is delighted that his best performance was witnessed by his coach Umesh Patwal (former Afghanistan batting coach), who was also at the ground.

"He [Patwal] was watching me bowl and that felt good. I'm happy to have played a big role in dismissing the opposition for just 17. I hope to carry this form throughout the league," Patel added.
