Karachi: Former Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Zaka Ashraf yesterday claimed BCCI, their Indian counterparts, threatened them for opposing the ICC structural overhaul. He told PTI: "There were threats directed at Pakistan but our stance was clear.

We could not support anything that went against our interests and our cricket." Ashraf has been replaced from his role by Pakistan's Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif with Najam Sethi being installed as the top boss. The reason stated for his ouster is "mishandling Pakistan's case in the changes brought in the ICC".
Ashraf said he as chairman had always tried to keep cordial relations with India and pushed for bilateral ties to restart. "That is why to show goodwill we agreed to send our team to India in December (2012) for the short series without any financial rewards for us.
" In the ICC meeting in Singapore on February 8, Pakistan along with Sri Lanka had abstained from voting in which India, Australia and England got major control of the ICC.
