As Captain of the India under-19 World Cup team, Prithvi Shaw is being challenged to join Mohammad Kaif, Virat Kohli and Unmukt Chand, all of whom have lifted the U-19 World Cup. With Kaif winning it in Sri Lanka (2000), Kohli in Malaysia (2008) and Chand in Australia (2012), Shaw has the most unenviable of tasks because he has to triumph in New Zealand which is not an easy place to win cricket matches, thanks to the conditions that are kinder to swing bowlers than batsmen.

The Mumbai lad, who addressed the media yesterday before team's departure, said: "We have quality players and I have full trust in my team. Everyone knows his role. Yes, we want to win the World Cup, but we want to take it game by game." Coach Rahul Dravid said: "The conditions will provide a unique challenge. No one in the team has played in NZ before and the key would be to adapt well to the conditions."
