Purshottam Shield: Pravin Tambe guides DY Patil to title

Dr DY Patil Sports Academy beat New Hind Sporting Club by virtue of a first innings lead to win the Purshottam Shield cricket tournament at the PJ Hindu Gymkhana in Marine Lines on Saturday. Shubham Ranjane (163), Yogesh Takawale (125 not out) and Aman Khan (107) scored tons as Dr DY Patil declared their innings on 609 for five.

The three-day match was over on Day Two itself as New Hind conceded defeat after being bowled out for 147 in the first essay, thanks to leg-spinner Pravin Tambe's 6-28. Avdhoot Dandekar (48) was the top scorer for New Hind.
