Tennis icon Roger Federer made a nostalgic return to Arthur Ashe Stadium for the US Open 2026 Legends exhibition, defeating Andy Roddick 6-3 in singles before pairing with John McEnroe in doubles. Looking ahead to the future, Federer remarked:
"I hope this isn't my last time on court. John McEnroe is still out there doing what he loves, and that inspires me to believe that maybe someday I'll get another chance to return to this court and play in front of all my fans," Federer said after the match.

"I am no guardian of the rules, but if a free-hit comes, obviously, no-balls will definitely be reduced. No team would want to bowl those no-balls and give that extra ball and give those extra runs."
