Bengal paceman Ashok Dinda, who was drafted in as cover for injured Ishant Sharma, has been released by the Indian team management

This has been done so that the in-form speedster can join his state side for Bengal's third Ranji Trophy encounter against Gujarat starting at Eden Gardens on November 17.

Dinda joined the 15-member squad as Sharma's stand-bye on SOS basis only on Wednesday. "Ashok Dinda will be taking 3:45 pm flight from Ahmedabad and will be back in Kolkata by the evening.

Since the first Test has already started, the selectors feel that it is better to release Dinda so that he can utilise the time in a serious match situation against Gujarat," a senior BCCI official told PTI yesterday. u00a0
