The cricket fans are excited to witness the intense rivalry between arch-rivals India and Pakistan, in Sri Lanka. The high-octane clash between the two teams is all set to be in action on February 15 at the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium in Colombo.
Pakistan's batsman Sahibzada Farhan sees the India clash as a normal match, but also said that the "Green Shirts" will enter with a different mindset.
"See, when you win two matches and are at the top of the table, you feel confident. The upcoming match is not such a big deal, we're not playing against them for the first time. We've played before and this time we'll play with a different mindset. You've seen us...You must have seen that Shadab (Khan) is making runs, (Mohammad) Nawaz is scoring runs. So hopefully you will enjoy our game against them," he said.
"It's a normal match. We'll play like a normal match. We won't put it in our head that this is an India-Pakistan match, it is a normal match and we will play it like a normal match," added Farhan.
Previously, India and Pakistan played tense matches during the Asia Cup 2025, all of which India won, including the final.
Team India skipper Suryakumar Yadav then said that, considering the dominance of his side over Pakistan, there is no rivalry left between the two teams.
Farhan disagreed with the statement and is hopeful of displaying good cricket on February 15.
"No, I think the way we played in the last Asia Cup, we didn't play one-sided. We played and fought till the end. We didn't play a one-sided match till then and hopefully this time we'll play a wonderful game," he said.
On whether he has any specific plans in place to tackle Team India's lead pace Jasprit Bumrah, he said, "I think when you make runs you are confident. I am also very confident and the way the last two innings have gone, I'm very confident".
Currently, Pakistan is enjoying the top spot in Group A with two victories and a net run rate (NRR) of +0.932. They also have four points. On the other hand, the "Men in Blue" are in the second position with one win in one match and a net run rate (NRR) of +1.450.
