Bangladesh's Mushfiqur Rahim en route his 72 on Saturday

Mushfiqur Rahim might be diminutive but he packs a large punch and Sri Lanka were at the receiving end at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Set 215 to win, Rahim took Bangladesh home with two balls to spare on Saturday. Never before had more than 178 been chased in a Twenty20 International in Sri Lanka, and this was the fifth highest successful chase in all T20Is.

Before the chase began, it appeared virtually impossible for Bangladesh, their batsmen having put a tepid show against India at the same ground just two days ago. But Liton Das and Tamim Iqbal came out with murder on their minds. Das, in particular was brutal, carting the bowling around the park in a 19-ball 43. Das hit five sixes and two fours, and his innings gave the chase the impetus it needed.

Even the fall of Tamim (47) soon after, did not dent the resolve of the Bangladesh batsmen.
