He could well have occupied his seat in the President's box like other administrators, but Savant, who has donned various hats in the association from being the treasurer and vice-president, was seen inspecting the stadium with his officials during and beforeu00a0the match.
Savant's predecessors were big names - Manohar Joshi, Sharad Pawar and the late Vilasrao Deshmukh. "I don't think too much about my post. I was doing the same when I was in some other post. Nothing has changed for me," Savant told Sunday MiD DAY.
Savant said he was at the ground since nine in the morning. "I want to make Wankhede the best experience for fans. We are working hard on implementing certain things," u00a0he said.
It was a good initiative by the MCA to introduce free drinking water during Saturday's match. With cost of food and beverages being exorbitant, this move would have certainly provided much-needed relief to the fans.
The MCA had also deployed their officials to guide the fans to their seat. Meanwhile, getting into the stadium is still a torturous experience for fans. It was largely due to the three security checks that resulted in long queues outside the ground. u00a0Savant also needs to sort out the size of the seats at the Stadium. Plenty of fans felt they were too small and utterly uncomfortable.u00a0
